I just got an email from some Vietnamese guy from Vietnam, and I believe he’s from an agency recruiter, or simply an affiliate middle man making money when people join freelancers.com clicking on his affiliate links, recruiting people from Vietnam to join his team so he can do business on freelancers.com He indicated that many top freelancers are from Vietnam, I wouldn’t be surprise, although I would thought more from India and China, but Vietnam – could be! 🙂 ? Anyhow the email indicated average earners from Vietnam making $50K USD a year and some of them pay no tax, it’s all cash! some high earners average high as $100K USD a year, I can you that’s a lot of money for Vietnamese in Vietnam, although the average salary went up a few hundreds a month, compare to $100 a month long time ago. So, I wouldn’t be surprise if many Vietnamese are joining the freelancers.com team, although many will fail but some will succeed, it’s started out for everybody, but only a few will succeed. Here’s the email in Vietnamese below, look like this guy is spamming though, he sends to a lot of people. Bottom line, you can make money on freelancers, no doubt, but a lot of people are joining freelancers, so a lot of competition, and a lot of competition will drive down the price or cost of certain projects, be careful, be wary of quality work, don’t rush, don’t pay too cheap! you get what you pay for! although freelancers allow you to rate and feedback the person working on your projects similar to ebay selling and buying, but check the worker profiles carefully, sometime it’s an agencies hired other people to work for them and they only do check before sending to you, and whatever you paid, they took a lot and give little to the actual person that work on it.
