Air travel via mobile ticketing is very convenient

With the technology we have at our fingertip today, it’s very convenient sometime or most of the time. Take air travel for example. I can use my mobile phone that have internet wifi access or even mobile internet access will also work. Doesn’t have to be an expensive mobile device cell phone such as an iphone and samsung galaxy. In fact, what I have is older model of the HTC and work just fine. So what work? Air Ticketing!

I booked my flight through hotwire.com via my mobile device. Got my ticket via mobile device. Printed my ticket on my mobile device. It saved the ticket in PDF format or other format your mobile device can display, such as a link picture appear with the QR code. I checked in via mobile device. Head to the airport, parked, took shuttle to terminal, head straight to security check point gate. Handed the mobile device to security checkpoint personnel, they validated it, scanned it, and off I go to my gate. The gate personnel does the same thing, scanned it and off I go to my seat! flawless! well not quite.

Here’s the cons I see on using mobile device air ticket. With many pros, the biggest con of all is, what if your mobile device runs out of battery, or crashed? well some may say, there’s a charge station nearby! WRONG! some of the airport I go to, does not have a charge station nearby, I would have to literally walk long way to get to it from my gate. I think that’s the biggest con, so if you’re worrying about your phone mobile device died on you, it’s better to go to the counter and ask for a printed boarding pass just in case! 🙂
