With all the technology such as laptop, tablet, computer and so on, does school even teach students how to write anymore? OK this morning I woke up and checked the news and saw an article talking about, it got me thinking, although I didn’t complete reading the article but my guess is school don’t teach or ask student to hand write their paper work as much as years ago right after the computer age technology expanded, school has computers and been utilizing it. Even when I was in school I started using an electronic type writer and even use an Apple II for word processing 8th grade, then in high school we started using a computer for writing essay and stuff, this was back in the 1990s I was in high school. So what about today? I can tell you that my oldest daughter in first grade did start some writing but the class room has computer, although not the latest technology computer but it work for the kids to do their match, puzzle problem solving skills, reading and so on, but! I have not seen her start writing on the keyboard word processing yet, so I’m assuming writing is in use for children in the early grades level maybe K1 to 3rd grades or so, then after that it’s all computer, tablet, computer. My guess is as technology improve, the only thing we need to learn are 1) how to read and understand 2) use the computer for all tasks 3) Speech presentation also utilizing the computer. Technology improves rapidly! so the next thing you might notice would be voice recognition instead of using your hand finger movement, you just talk! 😉
