Shared server? do you have websites being hosted by hostgator.com? and especially if you’re on a shared hosting package whether it’s baby croc or higher up, on all hosting packages for that matter, within a few months apart, there has been major outage! this is very bad for a webhosting company calling themselves we take a bite out of the competitors. Guaranteed 99.99% up-time? not true. I’m loosing faith with Hostgator.com although I don’t use it for this blog, but I do have a few of my other sites on hostgator.com and it doesn’t look good. When contract end with hostgator, I’m moving.

Hostgator.com are loosing its reputation to these downtime, whether it’s true or not due to data center network issue, still it’s not good for business. I hate to change my mind, in the past I’ve been promoting hostgator, but after these incidents twice already down time almost half a day is not acceptable, and it’s not scheduled maintenance. I hope that hostgator are offering some kind special offers for customers whom are being impacted by this downtime, otherwise hostgator will ruin its reputation as it already had in the past with customer service and all.

Unfortunately we’re seeing some latency and packet loss issues within our Provo Data Center. We do not have a lot of details at this point but will be updating this forum post as the situation develops.

We have received an update from our Provo Datacenter. It appears that there is a networking issue at this time. Our network engineers are continuing to work through these issues. Updates will be forthcoming.

Our NetOps team is still working to resolve an issue with a router and working to restore services for all affected customers. Some sites are coming back online, though we appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through the issue. As we get more information, we’ll continue to provide updates here on the forums till everyone affected has their service restored.
