This question has been asked many times on the internet, and people have different answer. However I did a lot of research online and never quite get an answer I want, so I did a comparison of pros and cons, and yes and no, and the winner is! “YES, please turn off your fish tank light at night when you go to sleep”

I did this research like a survey, I google search and talked to Petsmart and Walmart people with experience with fish aquarium, the majority of them say yes, turn it off at night, you might not even need a light or keep it on for 12 hours if your fish tank is close to sunlight or have light already. If your fish tank is totally in the darkness then yeah keep your light on 12 hours, most fish if not all are like us, they would like 12 hours light, 12 hours darkness.
