Windows XP Vista 7 8 install from USB drive How?

Well, I’ve been searching the web all night, and there are many tutorials and videos on how to do it, but some doesn’t work as smooth, some doesn’t work at all, or some would required extra steps. OK, so I got an old laptop, not too though it’s a centrino, it would not accept windows xp smoothly as I install the sound card or audio driver it doesn’t work, it’s a Compaq HP 2510p by the way, previously had problem with the zif drive controller card I think, in the end I purchased a $10 CD/DV Rom caddy that would allow me to use the sata secondary drive, and it work great.

Here’s the step to get Windows Operating System transfer to a USB drive to install on a netbook latop whatever computer you have that doesn’t have a CD/DVD Rom, also USB is much faster.

  1. Use PowerIso to copy your CD/DVD of windows 7 or whatever OS you want to use, copy burn it to an image file .iso
  2. For Windows 7 ensure the thumb drive is formatted using NTSF
  3. Use UnetBootin software to burn the iso over to the thumb drive (usb)

That’s it. Keep it simple.

use unetbootin to transfer any operating system to a usb drive to install on a laptop netbook or any computer bootable usb
