If you ever purchased something and paid via paypal merchant, not paypal account, but the store you buy the item from uses paypal to accept your credit card payment, watch out! For this “PAYPAL INC MARK – Purchase with AVS” especially if you have a rebate credit card that have certain value such as $10 $40 etc … watch out! everyone time you paid paypal take $1 as holding, and everytime you re-try and re-try, well each re-try will decrease $1 off your rebate credit card.

Here’s one user experience

so yesterday i got a pre paid card (had $40 on it) and i first used it on steam (gaming) and left with $11. i used this pre paid card on paypal but it failed 2 times. i quit and went asleep. today i woke up and tried again and still didn’t work. i went to check my balance on the pre paid card and it said i got $6? what? why did they deduct money from me, they preaty much stole money from and i don’t know what to do. will i get it back or is it lost forever?

The good news is, the $1 holding will eventually be credit back to your card, a week or so.
